Montebello: still one of the best values on in Northern VA
View toward the Carlyle District from Montebello
Montebello condominiums are located at the Huntington Metro in Fairfax County at Alexandria VA. These high-rise condos were constructed in the early eighties but the buildings are well-maintained and it shows.
The community recently undertook a tremendous project reworking the face of the balconies and sunrooms, and Montebello did this without a special assessment. Montebello has an abundance of high-quality amenities and a “walk to the metro” location that is just a mile or so from Old Town Alexandria.
The original kitchens are still in good shape, although most residents have replaced the appliances. Some residents have painted the cabinets, and
renovated kitchen
many have replaced the kitchens with modern and new cabinets and appliances. In the picture of this kitchen, the appliances are so new the plastic wrap still protects the appliances.

Courtyard at Montebello
Snow on the Montebello courtyard
They called it “Snowmageddon”. I can remember snow storms like this in Virginia, but that was more than 30 years ago. It will probably be 30 years before we see snow like this again. Three weeks after the storm the courtyard at Montebello still was covered in snow, but it made a very pleasant site from a balcony at Montebello.
Activities at Montebello condos
Montebello is a great community at least in part because of the strong sense of community at Montebello. For example, Montebello has a number of clubs that cater to a variety of interests. Some of these clubs include:

- T’ai Chi — 12-week session began on Thursday, January 7, 2010. in PR4 at 7:00 PM. Fee: $125 for 12-week session, due by second class; or $15 per class for those who have learned the first third of the T’ai Chi form we practice. Informal, comfortable clothes are worn. Come see what it’s all about!
- Water Aerobics — Mondays & Thursdays (4pm-5pm) and Saturday mornings (11am-12 noon), indoor pool
